Cornelius Klingel of CPC and Tobias Krafft of Trusted AI explain in the trade magazine changement! why people play a key role in the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI).
AI is increasingly becoming part of everyday work. But the success of AI systems depends largely on how well they are integrated into an organization's social fabric. The introduction of new technologies therefore requires not only technical know-how, but also a deep understanding of the human aspects of change.
Many companies focus on the technical implementation when introducing AI. In doing so, it is often overlooked that the acceptance and motivation of employees are decisive. There is a risk of resistance that hinders the successful use of AI.
A structured change management approach helps to master these challenges:
- Goals and communication: clear objectives and transparent communication create trust. It must be explained why AI is being used and how it is meant to improve the work.
- Human-centred design: AI systems should be designed in such a way that they foster collaboration between humans and machines. Employees should have the opportunity to actively help shape systems.
- Qualification and role clarification: the introduction of AI brings new task profiles with it. It is important to prepare employees for this and to strengthen them in their professional identity.
- Continuous adaptation: AI implementations are not one-off projects. Regular feedback and adjustments secure long-term success.
Leaders play a key role in this. They must not only go ahead courageously, but also offer employees orientation and support. Because ultimately, the combination of human expertise and AI is the key to fully exploiting the potential of the technology. People remain at the centre – supported, not replaced, by AI.
