Biography:
Jens Wilke is a Senior Manager at CPC AG, focusing on digital transformation, organisational development, project management and process design and implementation. He has worked in consulting since 2003 and is an expert in agile methods and their practical application. His broad industry knowledge ranges from automotive and logistics to telecommunications and banking, complemented by two years as CPC's country manager in Beijing.
Over the past decades, transport and logistics saw enormous growth driven by globalisation. Companies didn't have to change dramatically to stay successful. In recent years, however, geopolitical shifts, pandemics and rising energy prices hit logistics hard and triggered massive pressure to change. With AI, along with even more digitalisation and connectivity, the industry is betting on the right ingredients to get back on the path to success despite radically changed conditions. Yet one decisive factor of transformation is often overlooked: people. A lack of employee commitment jeopardises the success of all transformation activities.
Where change stalls
Realigning the supply chain triggers resistance
More data and stronger system connectivity help to respond better to unforeseen events such as wars, pandemics and climate change. Employees, however, get the impression that their years of experience are being called into question.
Even more efficient warehousing is questioned
More robotics and the Internet of Things secure seamless tracking of stored goods and real-time tracking of shipments. But many employees don't understand the new processes and system rollouts, nor the purpose behind them.
Even more customer service triggers rejection
With the help of servitisation, customers are offered additional services. But scarce specialists respond to the associated extra tasks and changes with rejection and quiet quitting.
“Our clients are so enthusiastic that they talk about it with pleasure. We'd be glad to arrange an exchange of experiences.” – Jens Wilke, Senior Manager at CPC
Our solution for you
We offer concrete solutions for intralogistics and transport logistics, so that you master all the necessary changes together with your top performers.
01 Simulations of digitalised processes create confidence
Well-established workflows are the backbone of successful logistics. Who is responsible for what, when and why in the new world of digital processes? With our approach, we take away employees' fear of doing something wrong. We also build acceptance and trust for far-reaching change.
02 A strong leadership culture retains your top performers
In dedicated leadership trainings and programmes, your specialists learn how to lead in the tough day-to-day of logistics. Because despite rising delivery pressure and higher customer demands, the key to successful logistics companies is mastering everyday work as a strong team.
03 Clear goals and co-creators through OKRs
So that all logistics employees know the goals, we use the OKR method. It helps team members shape the path to achieving goals through constructive exchange, even though they work in different places and at different times. This way everyone pulls in the same direction and works towards a shared goal, which is likewise essential for successful logistics.
