Sales coaching and selling coaching with method

The 5-Finger selling method is aimed at business areas with intensive customer contact. In sales, selling and customer service, employees speak with customers in person or by phone every day. This is where the 5-Finger selling method comes in. It offers a structured solution to improve selling behavior in a targeted way. In five clear steps, every employee can optimize their sales process and make it more successful.

Identify up- and cross-selling potential

There is great potential in sales, selling and customer service. Because regardless of whether employees see themselves primarily as sellers or problem-solvers — they have numerous valuable customer contacts every day.

Make better use of sales opportunities

Many companies have recognized this and are looking for ways to help their employees seize sales opportunities in a targeted way. This is exactly where the 5-Finger selling method comes into play.

Sell with quality and authenticity

Our method ensures that your employees act without pushy sales pressure. Instead, they learn to meet customers exactly where they are with their individual needs.

What is the 5-Finger selling method?

Many employees in sales and service find classic selling approaches unpleasant. These are often based on the principle of selling as much as possible — regardless of whether it really helps the customer or not. This attitude contradicts the self-image of many sales and service employees: they want to advise, not just sell. The pressure to sell above all therefore causes discomfort and can provoke resistance. In customer service it can even lead to labor-law conflicts.

The 5-Finger selling method addresses this resistance by strengthening existing abilities. Employees gain confidence in conversations and achieve more in the process: for their customers, for their company and for themselves.

The five principles of the method are:

  • Take good care of yourself.
  • Know your products.
  • Listen actively and find out what moves your customers.
  • Show the benefit clearly and understandably.
  • Take objections seriously — and only sell when it makes sense for your customers.

How the method works in practice:

The approach is easy to apply in everyday practice. Participants in our coaching programs are motivated and quickly realize: good selling and good customer service belong together. Both begin with listening, understanding needs and offering fitting solutions.

Implementing the 5-Finger selling method

The selling method has already proven itself many times in practice. Our approach is based on five clear steps:

Creating sales guides

In workshops with your best sales and service employees, we develop the ideal approach for inbound calls and in-person contact. Our particular focus is on initiating the sales process, arguing the benefit and closing. Our experts facilitate and refine the wording. The result: practical best-practice guides as an initial orientation for sales pitches.

E-learnings on the selling method

We develop e-learnings that convey the 5-Finger method vividly. Each module explains one finger using videos, customer situations and interactive exercises. In addition, we create product-specific e-learnings that deepen the simultaneous application of all five fingers. Your employees are motivated to develop their own arguments for pitches — for an individual, convincing performance in the sales conversation.

2 days of sales coaching

In a two-day sales coaching camp, your leaders learn the 5-Finger method from our experts. They work intensively with the method so they can later support their employees in a targeted way. They also develop a sprint plan for successful implementation in their teams and set ambitious goals to increase conversion rates — both short-term and mid-term.

Running the sprint

In the following 5-week sprint, leaders convey the 5-Finger method to their team step by step — each week focuses on one finger. Our experts support the knowledge transfer and practical application with individual sales coaching. At the end of each week, measurable successes and progress are jointly reflected on and appreciated.

Optimization and further camps

After the sprint, we jointly reflect on successes and identify potential for improvement. If needed, we refine sales guides, e-learnings and the content of the sales coaching. We also plan rollouts for further sales and service teams. You decide whether the further camps are run independently or with the support of our experts.
