Change is no longer an exceptional circumstance. New technologies, economic pressures, crises, and rising expectations placed on organizations shape the day-to-day reality of leadership in many companies. This raises an increasingly pressing question: How can leadership be effective in these dynamic times?
This is exactly where the “Leadership in Transition” workshop series from the TRANSFORMOTIVE network comes in. It is aimed at companies and executives in the Heilbronn-Franken region who wish to reflect on and further develop their leadership roles in change processes.
Together, we have developed the overall concept for this program and guide participants through a hands-on learning journey. The focus is not merely on imparting knowledge, but on working concretely on the real-life leadership challenges participants face in their day-to-day work.
Leadership in Times of Change Requires Its Own Answers
Leadership during periods of transformation follows its own dynamics. Leaders must provide guidance, even when conditions are uncertain. They must deal with resistance, a range of emotions, and conflicting goals. At the same time, they should empower their teams, communicate changes, and remain capable of taking action. That is why, in this workshop series, we combine in-depth change management expertise with concrete case studies, reflection, and direct application to real-world situations.
Throughout the learning journey, participants work on their own leadership situations. These include, for example, challenges posed by artificial intelligence, economically difficult periods for their companies, or complex change initiatives within their own organizations.
A learning journey with a clear central theme
The workshop series was designed as a multi-stage development journey. It consists of a one-day kickoff workshop, a two-day in-depth workshop, four virtual peer group meetings to reflect on specific practical experiences, and a one-day closing event that brings together two parallel cohorts.
The introductory workshop provides clarity on your role as a leader in the transformation process. The in-depth workshop focuses on specific tools and courses of action. Topics covered include dealing with resistance and emotions, self-leadership, conflicting goals, communication during phases of transformation, challenging conversations, and systemic relationships.
A key element is the Case Canvas we developed. It provides a framework for the participants’ individual real-world cases and guides them through the entire workshop series. This creates a common thread that consistently links the content to their own day-to-day leadership experiences.
After the third day of the workshop, one participant described this approach as follows: “I especially liked the common thread running through our own case study.”
From Workshop to Implementation
For us, effective leadership development doesn't end on the last day of the workshop. What matters most is that new ideas are applied, reflected upon, and further developed in everyday life.
That is why digital peer group meetings are an integral part of the program. Under the guidance of one of our coaches, they help participants apply what they have learned to their own contexts and further develop their leadership approaches.
The first cohort has already completed the introductory and in-depth modules and will begin its monthly peer group meetings starting in late August. A second cohort will begin at the same time. The joint final workshop for both groups is scheduled for December. If you are from the Heilbronn-Franken region and would still like to participate, please feel free to register for the second session: Leadership in Transition – Wirtschaftsförderung Raum Heilbronn GmbH
With “Leadership in Times of Change,” we demonstrate how leadership development can be effective during times of transformation: practical, case-based, and consistently focused on implementation.
