December 2018 – CPC is HR Excellence winner in the “Corporate Social Responsibility” category. Every year, the HR Excellence Awards are presented to companies that perform sustainable human resources work through projects and initiatives. In recent years, we have been able to win the award several times in cooperation with our customers. This year it was time again, but this time we ourselves were on the list as nominees and were able to convince the jury with the project “Fit for the German Job Market – certification for refugees in companies”.
“Fit for the German Job Market” arose from the understanding that the integration of refugees does not end with their first employment in a company. They also encounter a culture in their day-to-day work that is sometimes very different from the work culture in their home country. If you rely on trial and error, this is a tedious and frustrating process for all concerned.
In December, the first “Fit for the German Job Market” workshop took place, during which the participants gained in-depth insights into topics such as project management, corporate values and organized work. Using various methods, they were able to present their skills and improve their ability to organize (virtual) meetings. This, combined with the acquired knowledge about the topic “How to apply correctly”, helps the participants not only in their daily work.
After passing the final examination, participation is rewarded with a certificate from our cooperation partner TÜV Rheinland Akademie. This independent certificate supports the refugees with their next applications on their career path in the “certificate country” Germany.
The consistently positive feedback of the participants as well as the active participation in the learning units show us that we address the needs of the target group exactly with the workshop. Furthermore it indicates that the project makes a valuable contribution to the successful cooperation in the company. But not only the participants learned a lot, also for the CPCers, who moderated the workshop, it was an exciting week in which they got to know new people and other cultures, which will not be forgotten quickly.
